Hotlink protection. Hotlinking is when another website links to files in your website. This is usually done for images and multimedia files. In this case your bandwidth will be used to display those files rather than theirs. Prevention of hotlinks is one of the security tools available on the cPanel. It also allows you to specify the types of files that other web sites will be allowed to link to (i.e. html files),
IP deny manager. IP deny manager is another great security tool that the cPanel provides. This allows you to block an IP address, domain name, or a range of IP addresses from entering your web site. For example, this is useful if you want to block someone that is using up a lot of your bandwidth or that is posting unwanted material.
Password protected folders. Protected folders allows you to restrict the access to specific files (directories) to those who have the user name and password. By doing so, you are creating secure files on the web. Notice that password protected directories' names still appear during a search within your website so this feature is useful if you are designing new web pages and do not want them viewed by the public or if you want to share some files with a specific group of users..
